Une chanson de tradition celte<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The lass of Augrim, ou en fran\u00e7ais, la jeune fille d\u2019Augrim, est une chanson m\u00e9lancolique du folklore celtique. Elle est d\u00e9riv\u00e9e de la ballade \u00e9cossaise, the Lass of Roch Royal, r\u00e9pertori\u00e9e dans les Child Ballads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Une nouvelle, un film<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendue c\u00e9l\u00e8bre par la rencontre de deux grands de la litt\u00e9rature et du cin\u00e9ma :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 James Joyce dans sa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre nouvelle, The Dead, qui fait partie du recueil Dubliners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 John Huston dans son film qui porte le m\u00eame nom que la nouvelle et dans lequel Franck Paterson donne une magnifique interpr\u00e9tation. Dans ce chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre du cin\u00e9ma, Greta Conroy \u00e9voque d\u2019anciens souvenirs lorsqu\u2019elle \u00e9coute cette balade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une balade tragique<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le po\u00e8me anglais \u00e9voque le drame d\u2019une jeune femme qui, apr\u00e8s une liaison avec Lord Gr\u00e9gory, a un b\u00e9b\u00e9. Il fait froid, il pleut, la journ\u00e9e est morne. La jeune fille vient frapper \u00e0 la porte de Lord Gr\u00e9gory. Celle-ci reste ferm\u00e9e. Ce sera la m\u00e8re du Lord qui r\u00e9pondra \u00e0 la jeune femme. Celle-ci s\u2019en va, sous la pluie, elle et son b\u00e9b\u00e9. Tous les deux meurent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
